On Sunday July 27 2004 the ceremony for the opening of the "Rainer Kriester sculptures Park" has taken place in Vendone, a village near Albenga in Liguria, Italy.
The artist, born in East Germany, chose Liguria for his work. His talent and fame, weel-known all over the world, have given to this place a reconnaissance now "virtually" worth visiting from everywhere.
To remember his name and works his wife Christian has created a foundation and the park, with its 30 statues, is now known as the "Stonehenge of Italy"
