Enrico Pelos

General

This valley mountain community is related to a quite secluded and out from the general tourism routes valley. But may be just for this it is one of the best for the nature preservation point of view. From Torriglia near to the Scrivia valley you follow the ss45 which descends the upper part of this valley and you find Montebruno a well known holiday resort famous for its Sanctuary of Nostra Signora with an interesting folk museum and a medieval bridge. From here you can go to Barbagelata The hamlet of Barbagelata (1115 rn) is a summer resort and  the uppper village of the Ligurian Mountains. The road than climbs to Fontanigorda (819 m, 407 inhab.), a mountain community and important resort in the eastern Ligurian Apennines, in the valley of the Pescia river, secondary to the val Trebbia. Part of the feud of Lunigíana, it carne under the Fieschi family of Lavagna and in the 13th century passed to the Republic of Genoa which gave it as a feud to the Dorias. Itineraries to Antola mount or Brugneto lake paths or along one of the rivers less polluted in Italy. It seems that the ravioli dish was invented here and some ofe the best trouts are served in many places. Trebbiano wine if you choose to eat salamis, another speciality of the place.
