The Argentina-Armea Mountain Community Enrico Pelos General From the Nervia valley, passed Colla Langan Pass you can either go down to this olive trees valley or decide to show your ability as a walker or climber following the indications to Colla Melosa and then to the magnificence of the Pietravecchia and Toraggio mounts with a unique "alpine path" entirely excavated in the rocks during WWWII, as we are now near to the French border. From the top you can also enjoy the view of Tenarda lake which is private but with many picnic areas in the sorroundings (The place is wonderful and very interesting in summertime. It is only for real trained walker and climbing experts in Winter time). Going down to in the Valley we meet Triora, village d'Oc, very faumous for the "witches", for its high-jumping bridge and for beeing and advanced outpost of the Republic of Genoa. From here a road climbs into a gorge up to the small villages of Realdo and Verdeggia with their typical alpine houses. This is one of the places that most struck tourists used to come to Liguria for swimming and then in just half an hour you can have Alpine mountains sceneries. Typical dish of the area: "ravioli". Bring home the mushroom-oil jars and the Triora tipical bread. (published on the web 19/9/2001)
